24 Mar

Leonid Korogodski, author of the book Pink Noise: A Posthuman Tale which Cory Doctorow (Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom) calls “a story that sucks you in and spits you out again some 120 pages later”[1], has given Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole: Tales from Haunted Disney World a great review!

Want more information on Pink Noise? Visit the website here: http://www.pinknoise.net/ The book can also be purchased on Amazon.

SKELETONS IN THE SWIMMIN’ HOLE IN GODDARD COLLEGE LIBRARY

22 Mar

MFAW Summer 2009 Goddard graduates in front of the Eliot Pratt Library on campus. We're holding up our bound theses. Left to right, me, Amy Tranchida, Maria Chaudhuri, and Christian Thiede.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, and alumni are encouraged to send copies of their books so they can be placed in the permanent collection at the Eliot Pratt Library on campus. I sent them a copy of Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole: Tales from Haunted Disney World.

I just received a nice e-mail thanking me and noting it would be placed in the library with a nameplate. I’m just proud my work will be part of the school and accessible to other students.

I know many of you who read my blog/newsletter are Goddard graduates, so when you have a book published, keep in mind that Goddard would welcome a copy.

MISSED EVPs, NO MORE HUSKY AND “FLASH” MOUNTAIN: HEAR SKELETONS IN THE SWIMMIN’ HOLE & HAUNTED DISNEY ON THE MARCH 13TH EP OF THE G&D SHOW HERE!

18 Mar

Great ghostly craziness on The Ghostman & Demon Hunter Show, as usual—why there’s no such thing as Husky size in Sears anymore, EVPs none of us noticed on our video until years later, and, God help us all, boobs on Splash Mountain. The above picture of Shaun Burris (The Ghostman) and Nathan Schoonover (The Demon Hunter) says it all! I had a great time discussing ghosts, haunted Disney, Poe and all sorts of stuff. If you’d like to hear the show, you can listen to it directly from this post here:

SKELETONS SOLD AT PTOWN’S EAST END MARKETPLACE

3 Mar

The East End Marketplace in Provincetown! Their hot soups and great coffee make it a nice place to hang out on a winter afternoon!

I’m pleased to announce that Provincetown’s East End Marketplace is carrying copies of Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole: Tales from Haunted Disney World.

The East End Marketplace is located at 212 Bradford Street (at the corner of Howland Street) and is open year-round. It features a grocery and a selection of local wines, and their specialty is homemade food, such as Apple Crisp (to die for), meat loaf, macaroni and cheese and pot pie. Their terrific deli offers breakfast sandwiches, subs, and soups made to order.

In addition, it’s a local hang out. There are tables to eat at, and it’s not unusual to see people stopping in just to chat.

If you’re up in Provincetown, be sure to stop in and say hello!

I love this picture of Gary!
