A HALLOWEEN TREAT ESPECIALLY FOR DISNEY’S HAUNTED MANSION FANS: “GRAVE ERROR,” A GHOST STORY SET IN THE ATTRACTION

30 Oct

The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World, September, 2005.

Way back in 2007, I wrote a ghost story set in Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction; it was originally intended to appear in Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole—Tales from Haunted Disney World, but was cut because, despite the fact that it was a ghost story, it was a different type of ghost story than was in the collection and it just didn’t seem to fit.

In addition, it was so attraction-detailed that I didn’t feel that anyone who hadn’t ridden theHauntedMansion inDisneyland or Walt Disney World would appreciate it.

So, HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all you die-hard fans of theHauntedMansionattraction: I give you the story “Grave Error” as a treat! This story won’t be published anywhere else—it’s exclusively for you; feel free to download it and share it or pass it on to friends who are also fans.

Jennifer Gaffney, the ‘go-to guru for deals, steals, recipes and reviews’ for busy women—and a HUGE Disney Park fan—said of Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole that she ‘was glued. I couldn’t stop reading.’

We will be planning a “Creepy Christmas” give-a-way with her blog, so I’ll keep you filled in on the details.

16 Nov

Nicole Henke’s Bless Their Hearts Mom family-friendly blog loaded with tips (and, she admits, rants) for busy Moms, called Skeletons “the perfect Halloween hostess gift, and for difficult to buy for teens!”, adding that “I finished this book over 5 days ago, yet her dead animal story, Skeletons in the Swimmin’ Hole, is still with me.”

BROOKFIELD COUNTRY WINE AND SPIRITS AND SKELETONS A PERFECT MATCH

5 Nov

The display Brookfield Country Wine & Spirits Owner Louis put together!

When Skeletons first came out, I wanted to look at some creative places at which to sell it—I didn’t want to go just the bookstore route. My neighborhood wine shoppe, Brookfield Country Wine & Spirits, seemed like a good place to try it out.

Owner Louis Venezia did a terrific display with Halloween-themed products, and I’m happy to report that they’ve sold more copies than I would’ve expected…every time I stop in there, they need more books! Indeed…Spirits and Skeletons make a great fit!

Brookfield Country Wine & Spirits is located in the ShopRite Plaza at 143 Federal Road in Brookfield, Connecticut. Their staff is knowledgeable, their prices are very reasonable, and they have a huge selection of wines. I won’t buy my libations from anyplace else, these guys are so great. They also have daily wine tastings and other events, so you may want to check them out. Their website is http://www.brookfieldwine.com/
